Those who arrive here to find the state may have the heart, but not necessarily the housing to help. About 150 people who fled Afghanistan in August arrived in Manchester in November. Over 80 of them have been resettled by OICFE in New England, working with more people in two weeks than usually helps over two years. >> We have so many amazing volunteers doing everything from meals to taking games to driving to appointments, the community has been amazing. A critical piece of the challenge, though, is a permanent dwelling – about half are still in a hot state.
