Deborah Haines He was appointed as Group General Manager of the Samarkand Regency Amir Timur Hotel and Savitsky Plaza Hotel, which will open simultaneously with six other hotels in the first half of 2022 in the Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Complex, which is being built in Uzbekistan.

Mrs. Haines was commissioned to launch and open two hotels: the five-star Samarkand Regency Amir Timur Hotel and the four-star Savitsky Plaza Hotel.

Both hotels are considered a new milestone in the hospitality industry in Central Asia. The unique brand concepts of these hotels will become benchmarks for hotel business in Uzbekistan. It is based not only on the rich historical heritage of the region, but also on international experience and global standards of luxury hospitality.

Ms. Haines sees great potential in hospitality in Uzbekistan and especially in Samarkand as a rapidly developing region of Central Asia.

“Having a well-coordinated service team is critical to creating a pivotal image of hotels and personalized hospitality, so it is very important not only in building a strong team, but also in creating an engaging environment as a catalyst for professional growth – the service philosophy becomes a way of life,” says Ms. Haines.

“The fact that Samarkand Regency Amir Temur is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World gives us an advantage, but at the same time it imposes clear and important obligations: the accepted standards of the association guarantee high service and an exceptional approach to communication with each guest”, adds the general manager of the bloc.

For the successful development of world-class hospitality projects, the health and well-being of guests and employees becomes an important factor in hotel development, Ms Haines believes, and the ability to meet the social requirements of the time (to improve the working environment for employees and ensure social distancing for guests) increases public confidence in the brand commercial.

In addition, social networks began to play a major role in the perception of a tourist product at any level. “Digital technologies are not just a trend; they are already in our reality. The consumer chooses a contactless way to remotely book and purchase services in the tourism industry. I am convinced that senior managers should focus their efforts on technologies that provide a consumer-centric environment,” considers Ms. Haines.

In the short term, Deborah Haines highlights the following priorities:

  • Increasing awareness of hotel brands in emerging local markets and entry into international industry and business platforms;
  • Establishing partnerships in the local business community and building professional relationships at the international level.
  • The application of global standards and practices of the hotel business and, as a consequence, the development of the hospitality industry in the region;
  • The development of local youth cadres in the field of hospitality and the professional growth of local professionals.

Prior to her appointment as General Manager of the Silk Road Hotel Group in Samarkand, Ms. Heinz successfully led Radisson Blu hotels worldwide for over 19 years.

In addition to launching and opening hotels, Deborah Haines has gained experience managing operating hotels, where her efforts have led to increased brand confidence by travelers and guest and owner satisfaction. Ms. Haines led the relaunch of the newly opened Radisson Blu Paradise Resort & Spa in Sochi, having to convert the Olympic facility into an all-season resort. As a result, the hotel has received a number of awards: World Travel Awards – Best Luxury Spa, 2015, 2016 and 2017; World Luxury Hotel Awards – Best Luxury Spa, 2016; Asia Grill & Bar luxury restaurant, 2016.
Together with the management of Radisson Blu hotels in Moscow and Sochi, Ms. Heinz held for six years the position of Area Director of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Russia, successfully applying all her talents and high professional skills to this position.

In 2017, Ms. Haines was appointed as General Manager of Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok (Thailand) and then as Regional General Manager of Onyx Hospitality Group (Eastern Thailand). During her leadership, the hotels have received recognition from the professional community and won high awards such as Conde Nast Traveler Best Business Hotel 2019, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau – MICE Venue 2020, World Luxury Hotel Awards 2020 etc.
