Getting promoted on Fox News takes a lot – you have to spread misinformation, talk about racist and sexist comments, interview people with degrading questions, and violently threaten immunologists with comments like “Boom! He’s dead! He’s dead! It’s over!” And at all times, act like an absolute asshole.
After a year-long search to fill the Fox slot at 7 p.m., Jesse Watters has ticked all the boxes and is set to host his own show, “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
The promotion for Watters comes less than a month after he sparked major controversy for his use of violent language at a conservative conference while encouraging attendees to conduct Ambush interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Waters told the students, “Now you get in the kill shot. The killer shot? With an ambush? A killer. Because he can’t see it coming.”
Fauci responded to the comments, calling them “crazy” and saying that Watters “should be fired immediately” by Fox. But, at the time, Fauci expected the Watters to become “unaccountable” at Fox. Fauci was quickly proven correct as the network issued a statement of support for Watters soon after.
This was just one of the many controversies that Waters has raised over the years. In years past, Waters has survived a scandal involving racial profiling of different cultural groups in parts of Men on the Street, as well as a comment about Ivanka Trump that was widely boycotted as a sexual innuendo.
But all the while, Watters went on to find success in the Fox ratings.
