Victoria Main Street has been recognized by Main Street America as one of 337 affiliate programs in the country after a year marked by unexpected challenges, creative solutions and new initiatives in downtown Victoria.
Affiliates get network with other software and access to exclusive conferences, webinars, and other software development tools.
The Victoria Main Street Program has received this designation every year since 2012. The designation is made for Main Street programs that share Main Street America’s four-point approach to economic vitality, promotion, organization, and design.
Victoria Main Street Director Danielle Williams has had to adapt to achieve these goals during the COVID-19 pandemic. She spent her first year as Director of the Victoria Main Street Program supporting downtown business owners and keeping them informed about changing regulations and assistance programs while continuing to organize epidemic-safe events and spearheading the emergence of the 30-foot-high lit Christmas tree.
“It was especially rewarding to see downtown businesses open or expand during the pandemic,” Williams said.
Victoria Main Street is preparing to launch another survey of community input for its downtown master plan. More information will be provided at victoriatx.gov/masterplans.
